School Room with 7 rare Phillip Beglan dolls.
From the Kristin Baybars Collection.
This is a unique opportunity to purchase a schoolroom, made by sought-after doll artist Phillip Beglan. It was made in the mid 1980’s, so quite early in his career. The room box is electrified, & has a perspex front & contains a school master & 6 school boys. There is also a teacher’s desk & chair, 2 desk & bench sets (for seating 3 boys each) & a backboard on an easel.
Belgian’s dolls do not come up for sale very often. These are from his early career so not as fine as dolls he made later, but the characters are fantastic & the whole scene is full of life, with each school boy having a unique character of his own.
Unfortunately, there is a little damage. Boy 1 has 2 broken fingers. Boy 2 has a thumb that has been repaired (very well & probably by Kristin herself). Boys 3 & 4 have possible broken tips of fingers, though it is difficult to be sure as the hands on all the dolls are quite simple & the proportions look correct. The School master & Boys 5 & 6 have no visible damage.
POSTAGE: Please Note!!! There will be extra postage to pay, so please contact me prior to buying this to discuss the postage costs.
Measurements: 37cm w x 25cm d x 25cm h.
Dolls are 1:12 scale, though I would say on the big end of 1:12.
Condition *: 3.5
Maker: Phillip Beglan
*I have scored each doll’s condition out of 5, 1 being poor & 5 being excellent. This price reflects this score.
